Curated starter routine
Breakout starter routine
Foundational care first, with one optional adapalene treatment rather than a stack of actives.
Who it suits: Adults who can tolerate a gradual introduction to an over-the-counter adapalene product and want cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF in place first.
Before you start
Choose professional care for painful, nodular, scarring, widespread, or sudden breakouts. Choose a routine without adapalene if it is unsuitable for you or you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding unless a clinician says otherwise.
- Do not start the optional adapalene step alongside another new exfoliating acid or retinoid.
- Follow the Differin label and consult a clinician for pregnancy, breastfeeding, or persistent irritation.
